      Tiny Dancer

Dreamless nights slip into my slumber
I am lost in the night
The shadows that once cloaked me in comfort
Suffocate me until my screams die silently
Echoing like dying beats of a heart
As it is shattered and broken
Pieces scattering across the floor like glass

The mirror shakes
As the music box plays on
Fading into the background
She dances in circles around me and mocks me with such glee
A crack in that plastered smile
Looking back at me
And my world begets
Anything other than the darkness
So alone, even with you by my side
There is no where that hope can really reside
She just dances in circles around me and mocks me with such glee

Subject: Hi/Help!!

Ok, two parts to this. First part is hi. I'm Alex. I really love writing, second only to art, and I'm looking forward to posting more of my stuff on this site. I mostly write realistic fiction, and most of my stories are somewhat dark. I might try my hand at poetry a few times, but don't expect much. ;) I also have a slightly annoying habit of posting little notes in front of everything I write-I'm working on that.
Second part is a question-I submitted a bunch of short stories yesterday, but only one of them has been posted. Does the site only let you submit one story per day?

Subject: a small clip (experimental prose)

So here I indelibly mourn, to my knees I fall like Autumn bowls of silent sage, deep swelling sulfur mines of burning sage in the lighted chambers of my busted brain. I coin it for those lost wandering idiots, those who did nothing but die in the mud. But somehow I am lifted from this lethargic state, this multi-faceted outpouring, and flashed into the mended wind and fog so I can likewise project onto a thousand drawn canvases. I then procure this lamentation for those who needlessly covet the tangible gray forefront matter with wormy fingers. They follow the path of self-negation. And in the dithering dusk where the shadows amble to and fro on balanced timetables, I sniff in the poison of the world, undisciplined I guess, for the clouds come in so quick these days. Their pointless, strive-less bodies rub together, in the hearth with the worms. But where is the mirth for a radical soul? What’s in store for a very depraved, Bohemian soul? When will the precious stones be gathered together, into those pretty patterns? The misty chaotic tides cannot be erased but only in acquiescence responded to. And how will ones response be announced and then denounced and by what mouth will it be renounced, by what burning yew tree will we gaze at the blue-silvery eyes of mysterious sobriety, the eyes of Shiva. But here in the movement, preserved by the merciful arms of Brahma, I am a luminous root, printed or tattooed to the brain so sternly while the earth is just melting away. I can see the sun. It’s Lazarus chugging train-like miles to his heavenly position, and the moon is just waiting there plain-faced to shake hands, to kiss the sun with his crooked expression.
